Occasionally after we say our family prayers at night Carter will say that he wants to pray as well. Mostly, knowing that it only delays when he has to get into bed. Most the time when we try to help him he doesn't say anything. On occasion he will repeat the prayer after us.
While we were on vacation and we had been to the zoo that day we knelt down as a family and said our prayers. We thanked our Heavenly Father for all of the animals that we were able to see that day and named them off. When we were done Carter said that he wanted to say prayers as well. Jeff helped him say a prayer. Thanking Heavenly Father for the panda bears, the koalas, the elephants, and all the other animals that we saw AGAIN. After we said prayers we all got in our beds. A few minutes later we heard Carter get out of his bed. He then started to say a prayer all by himself. Jeff and I laid in bed listening to him thank His Heavenly Father for the animals yet again. He finished his prayer and then got back into bed. And in five minutes was out like a light! Jeff put it best when he wrote: It is times like this that I love being a parent. I am amazed by how much he learns just by watching us.

Thank you for being such great parents. Children today need good examples.
That is so sweet. I totally agree and Jeff took the words right out of my mouth without me even experiencing this blessing yet. My only worry is they will learn things they shouldn't…
