This was at our ward Christmas Breakfast.
I thought that the Santa was great except he didn't ask the right question. He asked, "Do you know what you want for Christmas?" and my kids nodded their heads. But he didn't ask them what they wanted.
Later, I asked Carter if he told Santa what he wanted, he said, "No, he didn't ask me!"
SO...I sure hope Santa knows what they want.
If he had asked them what they wanted, Carter would have said a remote control spider; and Aubrey would have said she wanted a Princess Castle!
Elliot and Santa
Later that day we drove to Logan for the Jensen Family Christmas Party!
This party is not to be missed and my kids look forward to it so much. I am sure it was the same when Jeff was a kid. We always have a ton to eat and then we play a game with a dollar gift. We used to play bingo and when you go Bingo, you would get a dollar gift, but the last few years we have read a story and we have to listen to the words. IF the story teller (usually Susan) says Right or Left you do as she says.
That game would be a good way to end the night in my opinion, but this is when they bring out all of the white elephant gifts. This is no joke around here. I like to call this game a waste of wrapping paper. SO many presents, so much wrapping paper and you are lucky to get anything worth keeping!
This is before the game begins... DO you see all of those presents....just waiting for my son to open them up and insist on it coming home with us!!!
The game is the dice game. You sit in a circle, dice on a few plates go around the circle. If you roll a double, pick a present. We do this until they are all gone from the middle of the circle.
Once they are gone, we keep playing for a timed 3 minutes or so. IF you roll a double, you get to steal a present. Of coarse the biggest presents are the ones that get stolen first.
Carter and Jeff managed to keep a few big ones.
This is their loot!
We got a box of old Pumpkins and Carter got a little crocheted plastic hat? (I have no idea what it is called)
And see that suitcase next to jeff? Well, that is not just one but three suitcases. They were Jeff's uncles old Missionary suitcases. BUT there was a bonus too. Not only did we get to keep and take these lovely suitcases home with us; they were filled with all sorts of toys.
Carter went nuts for this gift!!!
( update: as of two months later, I have managed to send most of the stuff that was inside these suitcases to the DI) :)
